Getting started
Open Mapsy and start with Locate on map. A state name appears, you tap it on the US map. No account needed. Your progress saves on the device automatically.
The quiz modes
Locate on map, Pick the shape, and State to Capital are the core. Tap to locate and Mixed mastery are the Pro modes, each with one free preview level.
Hearts & passing
Each level is 10 questions. Pass at 7 out of 10. On the free tier you get five hearts per level; with Pro, hearts are unlimited so a wrong answer never ends the run.
Explore the map
The Explore tab is a free-roam US map. Tap any state to open its page: shape, flag, capital, and facts. Great for browsing before you quiz.
Works offline
Every screen works with no connection. Mapsy is offline-first, so your progress is stored on the device and nothing depends on a network.
Sync across devices
Sign in with Apple, Google, or email to mirror your progress to your other phone or tablet. Optional, and the only reason to make an account.
Mapsy Pro
Unlocks all 10 levels in every mode, the tap-to-locate and mixed mastery modes, and unlimited hearts. Monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
Delete your data
No account means nothing on our servers, just delete the app. With an account, open Settings and delete it to wipe your synced progress for good.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to use Mapsy?+
No. The entire core app works with no account: all 50 states, every quiz mode, the explore map, and your progress. An account is optional and exists only to sync your progress across your own devices.
Does Mapsy work offline?+
Yes, completely. Mapsy is offline-first. Every screen works with no connection, and your progress is stored on the device. If you sign in, it syncs to the cloud in the background when a connection is available.
What are the modes?+
Locate on map (see a name, tap the state), Pick the shape (recognize a state's silhouette), and State to Capital (match each state to its capital) are the core modes. Tap to locate (name a state from memory, no options) and Mixed mastery (a blend of everything you've learned) are the Pro modes, each with one free preview level.
How do levels and hearts work?+
Each mode has 10 levels of 10 questions. You pass a level by getting at least 7 of 10 right. Hearts are your margin for error: five per level on the free tier, unlimited with Pro. Run out of hearts and the level restarts.
What's free and what's Pro?+
Free gives you the first levels of the three core modes, one preview level of each Pro-only mode, and five hearts per level. Mapsy Pro unlocks all 10 levels across every mode, the tap-to-locate and mixed mastery modes in full, and unlimited hearts.
What does Mapsy Pro cost?+
Three options: a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime unlock. Exact prices are shown on the paywall inside the app and are set per store and region (Apple and Google set local pricing).
How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?+
Open the paywall or Settings and tap Restore Purchases. Your Mapsy Pro entitlement is tied to your Apple ID or Google account, so it comes back once you're signed in to the same store account you bought it with.
How do I sync my progress to another device?+
Sign in with the same Apple, Google, or email account on both devices. Your progress mirrors to a private cloud document and pulls down on the second device. Only your quiz progress syncs, nothing else.
Which states are included? What about DC and territories?+
All 50 US states, with names, shapes, capitals, and flags. Washington, DC and the US territories are not part of the current version.
Is Mapsy on iPhone, Android, and the web?+
Mapsy is built for iPhone and Android. There's no web version. The app is US states and English only for now.
How do I delete my data or account?+
If you never signed in, there's nothing on our servers, just delete the app to remove your local progress. If you have an account, open Settings and delete it: this removes your synced progress and your sign-in record permanently, and the action is irreversible.
I'm having a billing or store issue.+
Apple and Google handle every subscription transaction. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com (iOS) or the Google Play order history (Android). For entitlement issues (showing as not Pro when you just paid), email support@moetalaat.com with your receipt and we'll sort it.
