Getting started
Sign in with Apple or Google and your own profile is created automatically. Pick a calculator, and the fields pre-fill from your profile where they can. Your first 10 calculations are free.
Formulas
Each calculator offers its published formulas by name (Navy, Jackson-Pollock, Mifflin-St Jeor, Epley, and 97 more), each with a one-line description and what it needs. Your pick per calculator is remembered.
Profiles
The Profiles tab is your roster. Add a person with just a name; sex, birthdate, height, weight, and measurements are optional and get filled in by the calculators as you use them.
The active profile
The chip in the header shows who you're computing for. Tap it to switch. Every calculation and save from that moment belongs to that person, until you switch again or close the app.
History and trends
Saving a result adds it to that profile's history with the formula, inputs, and date. Three or more saves of the same metric draw a trend chart. Results are never edited; recomputing adds a new entry.
PDF export
Export one result as a one-pager or a whole profile as a report, straight to the iOS print and save sheet. Reports carry the formula's citation; your private notes and profile photos never print.
Privacy
Everything lives in your private account, scoped to your user ID. Calculations run on your phone, there's no analytics SDK, no ads, and no sharing features of any kind.
Delete your data
Delete any profile or saved result from where you see it. To remove everything, open Settings, tap Delete account, and confirm: profiles, results, photos, and your sign-in record are permanently erased.
Frequently asked questions
How does the free allowance work?+
Every account gets 10 free calculations, total. A calculation is one tap of the Calculate button that produces a result; a calculation that fails validation doesn't count, and saving a result is always free. The counter is per account, not per device, so reinstalling doesn't reset it. After the tenth, everything else keeps working: profiles, history, search, and PDF export stay open, and only the Calculate button locks.
What's the difference between the weekly and yearly plan?+
Nothing except price. Both unlock unlimited calculations, and there is no feature held back from either. $4.99 a week or $29.99 a year in the US, with local pricing set by Apple elsewhere.
Which formula should I use?+
The one whose inputs you can actually measure well. Taking skinfolds with calipers? Jackson-Pollock. Only have a tape? Navy. Every formula in Roster shows what it needs before you pick it, plus a note where one matters, and the citation is printed on the PDF so a client can see exactly what produced their number.
Are the numbers accurate?+
They're honest implementations of published equations, each tested against reference values from the original research. But every equation is an estimate: two body fat formulas can legitimately disagree by several percent on the same person. Roster's job is to compute the formula you chose correctly, not to promise the formula matches your physiology. Nothing in the app is medical advice.
Can my clients see their profiles or results?+
No. A client profile is a record inside your account, not a user. Roster has no sharing, no invites, and no client logins, and it stores no contact details for the people on your roster. The way you hand a client their numbers is the PDF report.
Do my notes appear on exported reports?+
Never. Notes are private to your account and are deliberately excluded from both PDF layouts, as are profile photos. A report contains the person's numbers, the formulas, and the dates, nothing else.
Does Roster work offline?+
Yes. Formulas compute on your phone, and your data is cached locally, so the app works on a gym floor with no signal and syncs when you're back online.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?+
On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, choose Subscriptions, then Roster. You can switch plans, cancel, or restart there. Apple handles all billing, so refunds also go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you've resubscribed or changed phones, Restore Purchase on the paywall reconnects your subscription.
Is Roster on Android or the web?+
Not in v1. Roster is iPhone-only for now. An Android version may come later.
How do I delete my account?+
Open Settings inside the app, tap Delete account, and confirm. A server function permanently removes your profiles, results, photos, settings, and your sign-in record. This can't be undone. If you'd rather we do it, email support@moetalaat.com from the account's email.
