Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Roster iOS app, operated by Mohamed Talaat ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Roster.

2. What Roster Is

Roster is a fitness calculator app: 31 calculators across body composition, energy, nutrition, strength, and cardio, each offering one or more published, cited formulas. You create profiles (yourself, and optionally the people you coach), run calculations against them, save results to a history, and export reports as PDFs. Roster computes; it does not log workouts, plan training, or connect you with anyone.

3. Estimates, Not Medical Advice

Every number Roster produces is an estimate from a published equation, and equations disagree with each other and with reality. Body fat from a tape or calipers, calorie targets, heart rate zones, caffeine doses, projected 1RMs: all of these are approximations that can be meaningfully wrong for any individual. Roster is not medical advice, and we are not doctors, dietitians, or certified trainers. Consult a qualified professional before acting on any number, especially around calorie restriction, caffeine intake, maximal lifts, or training with any medical condition. You use Roster, and act on its outputs, at your own risk.

4. Your Account

You need an account (Apple or Google sign-in) to use Roster.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Roster.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app; deletion is permanent, as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. The Free Allowance and Roster Pro

Every account gets 10 free calculations, total, not per month. A calculation is one tap of the Calculate button that produces a result; a calculation that fails validation doesn't count. The allowance is per account, so reinstalling the app doesn't reset it.
Everything else is free without limit: creating profiles, saving results, browsing history, search, and PDF export all keep working after the tenth calculation. Only the Calculate button locks.
Roster Pro is an auto-renewing subscription (weekly or yearly) that removes the calculation limit. Both plans unlock exactly the same thing; the only difference is price.
Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by country. Billing is handled entirely by Apple through your Apple ID.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings.
Refunds are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com); we cannot issue them directly.

6. Profiles You Keep About Other People

A client profile is a record inside your account, not a user. Roster never contacts the person it describes and has no sharing features.
You are responsible for having a person's permission before recording their measurements, and for what you do with reports you export and hand over.
Keep notes professional: they are private to your account and never printed, but they are your words about a real person.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app
Tamper with, or attempt to circumvent, the calculation counter or the subscription entitlement
Interfere with the service, other users, or our infrastructure
Use the app in violation of any applicable law

8. Content and Ownership

The app, its design, and its branding are ours. The formulas themselves come from published research and are credited to their authors, with citations shown in the app and on exported PDFs. Your data (your profiles, measurements, results, and notes) is yours; we process it only as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Availability and Changes

We may add, change, or remove calculators and formulas over time, and may interrupt the service for maintenance. We'll never silently repurpose your data. If we ever discontinue Roster, you'll be able to request your data before shutdown.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Roster is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any calculated value will be accurate for any particular person.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for injury or harm arising from training, dietary, or supplementation decisions made using the app's outputs, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

12. Termination

You can stop using Roster and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or threaten the service's integrity.

13. Changes to These Terms

If these terms change materially, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Roster after changes means you accept them.
